Seton Hall University Athletics are near and dear to the heart of Construction Pros Managing Partner Al Best, a 1991 graduate who played first base for the Pirates. Best contributes annually to the Pirate Blue Athletic Fund to support student-athletes at the South Orange school. “When you are removed from it for 25 years, you can see the financial need,” says Best. “It’s nice to givebackandgivetheseguysanopportunitybecause it’s all so competitive now.”For more information, visit www.shupirates.com/sports/pirate-blue. For the Sake of Grace Construction Pros was part of an effort to build a dream treehouse for a girl named Grace who was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10. While a Construction Pros crew donated their services on the carpentry and siding, others chipped in to in- stall air-conditioning, heat, electricity, cable TV and wall-to-wall carpeting. The tree- house became a place for the always smiling Grace, known affectionately as Cookie, to forget about her illness and be a child. In December 2015, Grace received an early Christmas present—news that her cancer was in remission. To learn more about her story, visit www.cookiescrumblers.org. A Rainbow Connection Since 2014, Construction Pros has sponsored the Rainbow Foundation, a New Jer- sey-based non-profit that believes in “happy endings.”The organization has assist- ed well over 20,000 sick children and their families around the state since it was founded in 1984. They have helped pay for hospital and medical bills, arranged for transportation for surgeries and ongoing treatments, donated wheelchairs and prosthetic devices, purchased air conditioners for children with Cystic Fibrosis and made cash grants to families in dire need.
