Embassy Suites Coming to Corporate Complex in Berkeley Heights
Connell Real Estate & Development Co. anticipates a June 2017 grand opening of an Embassy Suites by Hilton located at the Connell Corporate Park in Berkeley Heights. The 174-key hotel with 14,000-square-feet of flexible meeting and event space will sit on a seven-acre parcel in the center of the prestigious complex visible from Route 78.
The hotel offers many perks for the park’s corporate tenants with nearly 3,600 employees (including AIG, Celgene, Plymouth Rock Insurance, L’Oreal USA and Hewlett Packard) as well as residents of surrounding highly affluent suburban neighborhoods. Grain & Cane, a 150-seat gastropub, will serve lunch and dinner with patio seating and a private dining room. A 3,000-square-foot Starbucks will feature The Clover brewing system, Collector’s Study Lounge and patio seating. Hotel guests will also enjoy a 24/7 fitness center with an indoor pool.
Construction Pros broke ground in mid-2014 working carefully to meet Seismic Zone building codes.
Non-bearing walls were built with a slip track designed to deflect movement. Special load-bearing steel panels were engineered and fabricated in the Construction Pros Workshop and installed. (See following pages for fabrication process.)
